1. What is the minimum age for car rental?
The minimum age is 21 years old with 1 year driving experience.
2. What is the minimum period for renting a vehicle?
The minimum rental period is one day (24 hours).
3. What documents do I need in order to rent a vehicle?
In order to rent a vehicle is mandatory driving license, identity card or passport and a valid credit card with holders name (renting holder).
4. Can I pick up or return a vehicle out of opening hours?
When making a reservation, you can place the exact time you want to pick up and return the vehicle; if the time is out of our opening hours it’s automatically activated a charge “out of hours” which will be included in the final price of the reservation.
5. Can I pick up or return a vehicle on a Sunday/Holiday?
Yes, it can be done on a Sunday or Holiday.
6. How can I get quote for a long term rental?
Quotes for long-term rentals are always given by request, send us an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with information about the time you want to hire, the type of car you need, local of pick up / delivery as well as a valid email and contact/phone number.
7. Can I extend the rental time?
Please note that rental extension must be done maximum 24 hours before rent ends and it’s always subject to confirmation by Madeira Premium Rent-Car.
8. Can I return the vehicle before the end of the contract, and be refunded with value of renting days not used?
In case of early return of the vehicle, Madeira Premium Rent-Car does not make any refund.
9. How is the delivery of the car at the airport?
Deliveries of the vehicle at the airport are quick and personalized. An employee of Madeira Premium Rent-Car will be at arrivals point with client name, or will be contacted by phone after airplane has landed; just go meet this person at arrivals and identify yourself. You will be immediately forwarded to the vehicle.
10. How is the procedure of returning the vehicle at the airport?
The return of the vehicle will be made at the airport, at departures, there will be a Madeira Premium Rent-Car employee waiting at pre-arranged time.
11. Can I make a reservation for someone else?
Anyone can book through our website for someone else and pay the amount with a valid credit card. However, those who hold the renting (drive the car) will have to submit the necessary documentation to proceed with renting.
12. The driver has to be the holder of the credit card?
No, the driver does not have to be the holder of the credit card, but the holder of the credit card must be present for signature confirmation. If you cannot be present See - Question 13.
13. The holder of the credit card must be present in the survey of the car?
The holder of the credit card does not have to be present at time of renting paperwork, but a statement giving Madeira Premium Rent-Car authorization to charge the credit card and a copy of identification for signature confirmation is mandatory, otherwise renting is refused.
14. Prices include VAT?
Yes all our prices include VAT according to the legislation.
15. Is there any advance to make a reservation?
For reservations made online reservation must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
16. The payment is made after booking online?
Payment of an online reservation is made in full upon confirmation.
17. What is the fuel policy applied by Madeira Premium Rent-Car?
Fuel is not included in the rental. The customer is obliged to return the vehicle with the fuel level equal to what it was at the time renting started, being charged if the fuel level is lower when returning the vehicle (value of missing fuel). If client delivers the vehicle with fuel level above to what was agreed at rental starting time, Madeira Premium Rent-Car is not responsible for any refunding regarding extra fuel paid by client.
18. Can I get a car or deliver in a different location from the airport or Madeira Premium Rent-Car, ex: at my Hotel?
Yes you can, you should ask Madeira Premium Rent-Car by e-mail (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) for price of service delivery or pick up in a different location.
19. I have a foreign driver’s license, can I use your services?
Yes, you can use our services with a foreign driving license and circulate in Madeira Island. Ensure that you have an international driving license.
20. What payment methods are supported for online reservations?
Booking online payment must be made with a valid credit card: Visa, American Express, Master Card, Discover, Diners or bank transfer.
21. What payment methods supported by Madeira Premium Rent-Car for bookings at the office?
Payments can be made with cash, ATM or credit card: Visa, American Express, Master Card, Discover, Diners.
22. Can I pay the rent by check?
We do not accept personal or traveler checks as payment.
23. Can I make reservations by phone or at Madeira Premium Rent-Car office?
Yes, you can always make a reservation through our reservation center or at Madeira Premium Rent-Car office. Contact - (00351 926 435 924)
24. Can I make reservations by email?
If you prefer booking by email, we can accept, please send us an email with all the data requested on the online booking form to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
25. How will I know that my reservation is confirmed?
To complete the process of an online booking request the customer will immediately receive an email which confirms the submission. All bookings will be confirmed within a maximum of 48 hours, confirmation of reservations will be made by email or phone; if there is no availability of the requested vehicle Madeira Premium Rent-Car may suggest to the customer changing renting period. The reservation is confirmed only upon submission by customer and final confirmation by Madeira Premium Rent-Car.
26. After my rental is confirmed, can I change the reservation data?
You can always change the reservation data, the changes will have to be always validated by Madeira Premium Rent-Car and may suffer some additional costs. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ). Cancellation / Booking Changes Once the booking is confirmed, the following reservation cancellation charges shall apply:
- Cancellations of bookings within 30 days before the start of the rental will be charged €50;
- Cancellations of reservations 15 days before the start of the rental will be charged 50% of the total price of the reservation;
- Cancellations of reservations from 3 days before to rental day and no shows will be charged 100 ‰ of the total value of booking;
- Pre-booking values will not be refunded in case of cancellations.

You should contact the Madeira Premium Rent-Car immediately and carry the instructions that are given. Madeira Premium Rent-Car contacts will always be present in the vehicle key ring or contract hire. For your security always contact the police.

30. Can I request a baby seat?
To carry a child in a vehicle is required to have a chair baby according to age or height and weight of the child, the Madeira Premium Rent-Car, can equip the vehicle with the proper baby chair for the child, just choose the extra booking baby chair, and then inform the Madeira Premium Rent-Car about the age and weight of the child.
31. Can someone else drive the car I rented?
Yes, the car can be driven by an additional conductor. When making the booking must choose the extras, additional driver.
32. Do I have to provide information about other people who will drive the vehicle?
All drivers should be included in the lease contract, in particular for reasons relating to the liability insurance and other disclaimer. Each rental agreement can only be in addition to the customer, 4 additional drivers. This hypothesis will have an associated cost.
